The landscape we perceived is the result of natural processes and human intervention. It has many interpretations and to manifest in various ways. By studying the characteristic of the element of Landscape, namely land, water, vegetation. The aim for this study was to understand the landscape types that have been created as a result of the interaction of the natural processes. A thorough observation and interpretation of some landscape in Banaras with particular refernce to Ghats and its vicinity helped in understanding the visual structure, its function and the spatial organisation.
The judgement was finally communicated through Landscape Development Plan for a delineated area with respect to major aspects like water-landscape edges, natural landscape components, accessibilty and sustenance with natural processes like annual rising and fall of water in the river.
